Bali Information
Bali is the most well known island of Indonesia’s archipelago. Rightly so. With
glorious beaches, unique culture and a vibrant people, Bali is easily the most visited
part of Asia.

Majapahit Kingdom |
It is believed that their ancestors were Majapahit Kingdom’s elite who escaped the
decline of their kingdom.
Fine beaches spread from the south to the north of this
island, world-class clubs and bars abound. Yet cultural sights, dances and art coexist
easily on this relatively small island. Offshore, the diving is superb. There are
few places that can offer a cultural dance performance in the morning, a wreck dive
in the afternoon and thumping house music to 4am.
You will need more than a week
to enjoy Bali. Dolphin-sighting, underwater beauty in Penida and water sports in
Benoa will keep you occupied. Otherwise, simply spoil yourself in a Balinese Spa.
The Monkey forests in Ubud and Sangeh are pleasant walks on the wild
side Canoeing, rafting, cruises, bungy and cycling is for those looking to work
up a sweat while on holiday.
Yet, natural beauty is everywhere. Verdant padi fields
stretch in a sea of green. Mountain vistas of active volcanoes dominate the Northern
skyline. From the volcano, look south to see rolling farmlands and forests bordered
by the blue sea.

Although Bali is hip and modern, the Balinese remain a spiritual people. Every village
has at least 3 temples and each temple celebrates its odalan once every 210 days.
All adult members of the village return to celebrate the odalan with dances, feasts
and colorful ceremonies. Don’t be surprised that your chambermaid can dance the
Legong, or your taxi driver plays in a Gamelan orchestra. They perform dances and
rituals in temples (pura) as an offering to the Gods. Ubud remains the cultural
and artistic heart of Bali.
In contrast, Legian and Seminyak offer groovy nights
with great music and house beats to the wee hours of the morning. Ibiza gone Indonesian.
Different strokes for different folks.
