Tirta Ayu Hotel And Restaurant The Water Palace, Karangasem

This is a recent addition to the beautiful Royal Gardens at Tirta Gangga. The Gardens were built by the King of Amlapura and someone had the brilliant idea of renovating the old villas at the back of the restaurant.

The villas are well appointed with modern toilets and stylish furnishing. Best of all, you get the use of the royal pools, and the gardens are delightful to walk in. If you stay here during the weekday, you will have the place virtually to yourself.

The restaurant serves good Indonesian and fair European food. It was expensive though. Unfortunately, your dining options are limited. The views from the elevated restaurant stretch all the way to the Coast.

In any case, the rooms are a steal for the experience of staying in a Balinese palace.
